Hello there! My name is Kretel Arzola. I was born and raised in a small town on the island of Cuba. As a child, I loved painting on scraps of canvas and found inspiration everywhere. I also loved reading and spent much time at the Library, where my mother used to work. At the age of six, I wrote my very first story, and I never forgot the excitement of my newfound passion.
After I graduated from a Fine Arts Academy in 2009, I became an Art Teacher and I loved teaching kids of all ages. In 2012 I moved to the United States, and later on became a mother. My children, like myself, love reading bedtime stories with sprinkles of magic and adventures. That is why I decided to write again. I know how vital literature is for kid’s development and how big of a role our imagination plays in our views of the world and creativity. My books tell tales of magical dreamland visits, unique and unconditional friendships, and more. They are also available in Spanish, my native language.
Now, I live by the sea in California with my children. My vision is to inspire and create positive change in the world through my books. My style and creativity often come from my own life experience. I believe every child is unique and is worth celebrating.
¡Hola! Mi nombre es Kretel Arzola. Nací y crecí en un pequeño pueblo de la isla de Cuba. Desde mi niñez, me encantaba pintar sobre retazos de lienzo y encontraba inspiración en todas partes. También me encantaba leer y pasaba mucho tiempo en la biblioteca, donde trabajaba mi madre. A la edad de seis años, escribí mi primera historia y nunca olvidé la emoción de mi nueva pasión.
Después de graduarme de la Academia de Bellas Artes en 2009, me convertí en profesora de arte y enseñé a niños de todas las edades. En 2012 me mudé a los Estados Unidos y luego me convertí en madre. A mis hijos, como a mí, les encanta leer cuentos para dormir con pizcas de magia y aventuras. Por eso decidí volver a escribir. Sé lo vital que es la literatura para el desarrollo de los niños y el gran papel que juega nuestra imaginación y creatividad en nuestra visión del mundo.
Mis libros cuentan historias de visitas mágicas al país de los sueños, amistades únicas e incondicionales, valiosas enseñanzas y más. También están disponibles en español, mi lengua materna.
Ahora vivo junto al mar en California con mis hijos. Mi visión es inspirar y crear un cambio positivo en el mundo a través de mis libros. Mi estilo y creatividad a menudo provienen de mis propias experiencias de vida. Creo que cada niño es único y merece ser celebrado.
